Cabells appreciated the opportunity to contribute to a recent CBS News segment highlighting the escalating threat of predatory journals and their impact on research credibility. The report explains how these fraudulent outlets exploit researchers and put the integrity of scholarly communication at risk.

As part of the segment, Cabells shared how our Predatory Reports database helps researchers, libraries, and institutions identify and avoid these journals. With more than 19,000 (soon to be 20,000, unfortunately) titles currently flagged for deceptive and unethical practices, our goal is to provide transparency and protect the academic and medical communities from fraud and misinformation.

We’re always grateful for any opportunity to help raise awareness of the threats posed by predatory journals and to support efforts toward ethical, trustworthy publishing.
