FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BEAUMONT, TX: Cabells – a US-based information services company – is launching Journalytics STEM, the latest in its suite of powerful and trusted database products to support researchers and institutions in optimizing decision-making for publications.

With Journalytics STEM, Cabells has taken the successful formula it has developed with Journalytics Academic and Journalytics Medicine and applied it to the important disciplines within Engineering. This new database includes over 7,800 journals across 26 different STEM disciplines, including Geology, Chemical Engineering, Physics, and Mathematics.

Data points for journals in the database include a range of unique and licensed sources that offer the best range of information users need to decide where to publish and research their work. These include:

  • CCI – Cabells’ influence score based on citations within a journal’s discipline
  • Altmetric – influence score based on wider digital impact measures
  • Scite_ Smart Citations – understands extent articles are supported or criticized
  • Submissions – key data on acceptance rates and time to publication
  • Peer review – unique collection of data points on process and time to review

Like Cabells’ other products, access to Journalytics STEM will be available via a subscription from tomorrow (Wednesday, February 18th) – and in addition, the new product will be integrated with Predatory Reports, giving subscribers access to two of the world’s most powerful databases for ensuring research integrity.

‘Major development’

Commenting on the launch of Journalytics STEM, Cabells Chief Executive Officer Lacey Earle said: “This is a major development for Cabells, and one we have been working on for several years with our teams of technical and journal experts. We know from speaking to our customers how much they value accessing such a wide range of publication data points in one place, and we are delighted to now be able to support the STEM community with this new product.

“This is Cabells’ second major launch in the last 12 months following hot on the heels of CompassAI, which has been extremely well received by the research community. The launch of these new products shows Cabells’ dedication to improving the resources available through university libraries and helping the wider community mitigate the increasing problems presented by research integrity issues.”

Cabells currently indexes over 13,000 journals in its Journalytics Academic database, over 9,000 in Journalytics Medicine index, as well as listing over 20,000 titles in Predatory Reports. Journalytics STEM will be introduced at a number of Library and Engineering conferences during 2026.
